This may go from a question to a PSA. So Ive been testing this and in Settings -> Power & Startup -> Power mode & Startup there is the option to set your Xbox to Instant On. To the right of that option there are three check boxes. One of them says 'When Xbox is off, turn off storage' and it was checked. I unchecked it. Now when I go to the Microsoft website and find a game Ive already purchased, I can click the 'Install on Xbox One' option and it will begin downloading to my Xbox! I can see that game move from the Ready to Install list to the Download Queue! So now I just have to confirm that I the Xbox does this while its off.
If youre having this issue please try this and let me know if it fixes the issue.
Further testing shows this still does NOT work for Xbox 360 games. Xbox 360 games will still not automatically download from the Microsoft website even with the Xbox One X on.
END UPDATE
I used to rely on buying a game while at work and having the Xbox download it for me during the day so I could come home and play.
But I have had the Xbox One X for about two weeks now and I cant figure out how to get that shit happening here. First thing is first is that I used the 'Backup and Restore' option to automatically save all of my settings to my external HDD and back them up to the Xbox One X. But even with that, the best I can do is get my new games to appear in the Ready To download queue Install Menu.
So here are the following settings I have for the Xbox One X:
Personalization: Xbox One X is my HOME Xbox
Power & Startup: Instant On
System -> Updates: Keep my console up to date and keep my games and apps up to date are both checked. This is supposedly for automatic 4k enhancements but it still doesnt make the entire game download automatically.
Network: I am definitely connected to the internet.

Has anyone else struggled with this? The games I have bought on the website now have an 'Install on Xbox One' button but clicking that does not trigger an install either even when the Xbox is on and Im starring right at the game. It doesnt move from Ready to Install to the download queue.
